These silicone strips put constant pressure on your incision site which really does help improve the way your scar will look. They are clinically proven to reduce, flatten, fade and smooth scars -- both old and new.
If you are our patient, you'll get a complimentary supply of these silicone strips in your surgical recovery kit.
But you don't want to use them immediately after your surgery. Instead, start using the silicone strips 2-3 weeks after your surgery once the incision area is healed with no scabs or open areas left.
Wear the strips as often as you can day and night, except while showering or exercising. When your silicone strips become dirty or loses adhesiveness, wash them gently with tap water and mild hand soap then air-dry before reapplying. Each piece should last you 3 to 4 weeks, and the unopened pieces can be used for up to 3 years.
In this video, Dr. Reath and Mandi discuss the use of silicone strips to prevent scars after plastic surgery.
